Do you know someone with an internet or video game addiction?

The reSTART Internet Addiction Recovery program is offering several “Launch your Life” tuition scholarships to attend one 45-day reSTART program during 2009. These awards include the Founding $14,500 Need Based Scholarship to one young adult willing to commit to attending a program in July of 2009. Other awards include one tuition scholarship in the amount of $5,000; and 2 tuition scholarships for $2,000 each. Participants are responsible for the costs above and beyond their scholarship awards. Scholarships are applied directly to tuition expenses and may not be used for any other purpose.

Please help us alert young adults in your community (along with their parents and spouses) to the availability of these scholarships. If you are an eligible participant between the ages of 18 and 28, please go to http://www.netaddictionrecovery.com for a copy of the online scholarship application form. As part of the application process, applicants are invited to create a short (clean) (5 minutes or less) youtube video clip describing their internet or gaming addiction, their reasons for wanting to enter treatment, and how they plan to turn their lives around after treatment. All scholarships are awarded based on financial need, personal understanding of the problems encountered with excessive internet abuse, and a willingness to change addictive habits. Individuals who have previously applied are encouraged to apply again.

reSTART is dedicated to providing information and resources on the treatment of internet, video game and gaming addictions. The mission of the reSTART Internet Addiction Recovery program is to help young adults—addicted to video games and the internet, detach from their high-tech distractions, find balance, and reconnect to the real world.

Sincerely,

Cosette Rae, Executive Director
