Wellness Resources Resources Mental Health Eating Conditions Find Support Income Guidelines for Food Assistance to Increase

Beginning October 1, 2008, income limits will increase for Basic Food which will help more people get more food in Washington State.

  • Getting Basic Food is easier.  
  • Monthly benefits vary by the number of people living in your household 
  • You do not have to be a US citizen to get basic food benefits. Legal immigrants are eligible for benefits. However, undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Basic food benefits in Washington State.
  • Participation in the Basic Food program automatically enrolls school-age children in the free school meals program.
