Beginning October 1, 2008, income limits will increase for Basic Food which will help more people get more food in Washington State.

- Monthly benefits vary by the number of people living in your household
- You do not have to be a US citizen to get basic food benefits. Legal immigrants are eligible for benefits. However, undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Basic food benefits in Washington State.
- Participation in the Basic Food program automatically enrolls school-age children in the free school meals program.
