Positive psychology focuses on love, happiness, relationships, gratitude and well-being NOT only on human misery and weaknesses. It encourages self-acceptance, it allows us to simply focus on what brings happiness into our lives. Rather than focusingon the negative, positive psychology teaches people to focus on the ABC of change: affective, beahvioral and cognitive. By the time I finished my academic career in psychology, my spirit felt impoverished. Positive psychology, spiritual counseling, coaching and strengths building liberated my thoughts from focusing on human weakness to one of focusing on human happiness.
